Five capital cities, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane hit 30 degrees yesterday.
Today another five hit the same temperature, with Hobart replacing Adelaide. It’s the 28th time in recorded history that this has happened but never so early in the year.
It’s beaten the previous record by 26 days.
A change will come through tomorrow producing coastal showers. Widespread rain is set to move in at the end of the week for a run of cooler, cloudy days with showers.
