STATE CUP SUCCESS FOR PORT’S WOMEN

Port Macquarie’s women’s 40s side has taken home a state cup trophy after downing long-time rivals Easts Roosters 3-0.

Port’s women’s 20s weren’t so lucky, though, going down to the Cronulla Sharks 9-6.

Meanwhile, the addition of high profile recruit Benji Marshall paid off for Wests Magpies at the New South Wales State Cup touch finals.

The Magpies downed Hornsby in the Open Mens, while the Canterbury Bulldogs were too good for the Roosters in the Open Women’s final.

While Sydney sides dominated the top divisions, host club Port Macquarie held their own in several others.
