Taree police have issued a warning to the elderly, following a number of recent thefts.
They say a woman has been knocking on people’s doors asking to use their bathroom, before stealing property.
Police say in most cases, the victims were unaware items were missing until well after she left.
Anyone who receives such a request is advised to contact police.
