INDEPENDENTS HOPE FOR TRANTER IN CANTER

The race for the state seat of Maitland got even more interesting today, with Kellie Tranter announcing she’ll again run as an independent.
The lawyer grabbed eight per cent of the vote in 2007 and could hold the key to next year’s result.
This time around Ms Tranter has joined an independent alliance headed by anti-corruption campaigner and former MP, John Hatton.
“What we’re trying to do is start a new idea in politics and that is people can represent their own electorates.”
