A new Coffs Harbour tourist attraction has emerged as a big winner at the National Tourism Awards.
The Aboriginal Discovery walk at Muttonbird Island has taken out the Gold Award in the National Indigenous Tourism category.
Unveiled 11-months ago, the prominent structure features the works of local Aboriginal artist, Shane Phillips.
The information shelter highlights the history of Gumbaynggirr (GOOM-BAN-GEER) heritage, and aims to give visitors a unique cultural experience.
The $300,000 attraction is a joint project between Arts Mid North Coast, the National Parks and Wildlife Service and the local aboriginal community.
