Sporting facilities in the Tamworth area are about to come under the microscope.
Leading economic researchers, Sportex, will carry out an audit to determine what the district’s sporting industry is worth to the local economy.
Council says the results may lead to investment in more infrastructure to help attract bigger state and national events, as well as upgrades to existing facilities.
Sportex says preliminary research indicated Tamworth has enormous potential as a regional sports tourist destination.
