FORESHORE PLAN ON EXHIBITION

The long-awaited draft management plan for Port Macquarie’s foreshore has been unveiled.
The plan, which covers Crown waterfront land from Settlement Point to Town Beach, is expected to generate a lot of interest.
Lands Minister Tony Kelly says the document outlines a range of possible uses for the foreshore, from tourism and hospitality, to waterfront recreation, retail and boating facilities.
The waterfront has been the subject of intense public debate in recent years, with plans to redevelop a section near Westport Park sparking a public rally in 2008.
Public comment on the draft plan is being sought until the 13th of April.
