A morning surf at Blue Bay Beach almost proved fatal for a 55 year old Central Coast man.
He was reportedly pulled from the water after fellow surfers noticed him floating face down.
A lifeguard from Toowoon Bay, as well as a two off duty army medics quickly administered CPR.
The man was quickly taken to Gosford Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, where he remains in a serious stable condition suffering spinal injuries.
