There’s been a lucky escape for an elderly driver who crashed his car into a guard rail on Memorial Drive at Bar Beach this afternoon.
Incredibly the man walked away from the accident with only injured hands.
Police closed a section of the road for around an hour.
The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital and is in a stable condition.
