Senior hockey action got underway in Tamworth today with the beginning of the Veterans State championships.
23 teams are contesting the three day competition, with sides travelling from the Far West, the Central Coast and mid-north coast.
Tamworth fielded a side in the B division and they got off to a promising start defeating Orange two points to one.
