WINDS LASH NEW ENGLAND

SES crews were also kept busy, called out six times today with trees down in the Armidale and Guyra region.

A severe weather warning for the Northern Tablelands saw wind gusts recorded up to 90 kilometres an hour, causing damage to at least one roof.

And despite more wild weather forecast the extreme conditions on the coast mean the Namoi SES will send four boats and now a dozen volunteers to help.

Catherine Cain from the Namoi SES says we’ve received a request for three out of area teams to attend Richmond/Tweed and help out at Ballina with the flooding.
