A sugar mill in Broadwater has been fined $15,000, after spilling a thousand litres of caustic solution into the Richmond River.
The spill at Broadwater Mill occurred in September during an evaporator cleaning operation.
The company says there was no environmental impact, and it’s undertaking review programs and control procedures.
