He’s the most talked about dog in Australia at moment, but obviously shunning the spotlight.
Scooby the deaf eight-year-old cavalier king charles spaniel, just won’t budge from the cave he’s been trapped in since Sunday, near Cessnock in the Hunter Valley.
It’s believed Scooby chased another animal into the cave, and despite the efforts of rescuers who’ve been digging, and chipping away, he won’t come out.
The rescuers have probed the cave with cameras giving the waiting throng of media outside a glimpse of the stricken pooch.
The RSPCA says it’s a delicate and time consuming exercise and added Scooby doesn’t appear to be in ill health.
