School children in Port Macquarie are combining art with conservation, and learning all about one of our native animals in the process.
Students at Hastings Public School are creating sculptures depicting the theme of platypus awareness and conservation.
They have also been learning about a local project aimed at protecting platypus habitat in the Hastings.
The colourful works will be featured in this year’s Aqua Sculpture exhibition which takes place during Water Week in mid October.
