Promoter Nathan Swadling says he’s just as disappointed as everyone else, after being forced to call off the much-anticipated Heavyweight Explosion event at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
Friday’s fight night was cancelled after Big Boss Promotions failed to secure a corporate sponsor.
The event was to feature former NRL star John Hopoate, as well as Newcastle’s Daniel Amman.
The Stockton southpaw had opted out of a lucrative fight in Germany for the local bout, and is said to be devastated.
