Parking metres could soon be popping up all over the Tweed,after council let slip it’s considering the idea.
But the Director of Engineering and Operations wouldn’t elaborate on when the controversial plan might be introduced.
“Well that’s a matter for council to determine in the future.”
Patrick Knight is confident however, that Kingcliff shop-owners will welcome a section of Marine Parade becoming one way, to allow for 50 extra car spaces.
“There will be some inconvenience you know, some people I guess would like to go straight up the road rather than around the block, so it’s not all kind of good, but there’s a trade off.”
Work will begin in February.
