CONCERT DEBACLE

There were angry scenes and traffic chaos outside Wyndham Estate last night, when the promoters of a Human Nature and Smokey Robinson concert sold and gave away 3,000 extra tickets.

The confusion was caused after some people failed to their activate free tickets on-line, leaving organisers unsure of final numbers.

People travelled from as far away as Sydney and Dubbo, but many were turned away at the door.

Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism has gone into damage control and today issued a statement saying it will contact promoters New Vine Entertainment, to make sure disappointed fans get a satisfactory outcome.

  1. After a nearly 3 hour drive, the 3 of us (middle aged men) were confronted by police, who refused to allow us any further by car. So, we ended up walking fast… for ONE HOUR (3 miles ?) at night (no lights) along dark country roads, TAKING OUR LIVES in our hands, worried about cars that somehow WERE allowed to pass (locals going home ? ). With our food necessarily left behind in the car, we were starved, and VERY angry. We went there in good faith, with valid tickets. This episode is a TOTAL disgrace .. NO WAY to treat decent people ….

Incidentally, we talked to one lady who’d driven straight from MELBOURNE …. only to be confronted with a 7km walk when not allowed to drive further ! (**** !!!!!!!!)

  2. I (middle aged woman) was amongst the concert goers who had a complimentary ticket and DID register it on line as requested on the ticket. I spoke to several who also had these tickets who said they didn’t know they had to register them. The main part of the information on the ticket was that YOU HAD TO REGISTER them, so a large proportion of the blame for the influx of people has to go to those who didn’t do as they were asked. Why don’t people read the information?
The promoters possibly should not have had as many complimentary tickets as they did – who knows? This will be a good test for organisation in the future. I feel very sorry for the people who were stopped near Greta or chose to walk in the 4km from where the road was closed.
Also I think that advertising should suggest using the bus system where possible as it reduces the amount of traffic and therefore chaos. Many of the cars in the queue only had 2 passengers so of course there would not be enough parking. We arrived early but still took an hour to go the final 4km. I would certainly recommend to anyone going to the concerts in the Hunter to use the bus – DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR, unless there is no bus available.
Also on the information given by Wyndham Estate on a website and over the phone was that blankets or low rise chairs only would be allowed in. I bought a chair specifically for the event only to find that the majority of people on the green had regular chairs. Anyone seated in the green area on a blanket would not have seen the stage.
Apart from that, Human Nature were fabulous – they are true entertainers. Pity about the lack of sound for Smokey Robinson’s first song!!

I wonder what will happen when Tom Jones and Whitney Houston are in concert at different venues on the same night in February!!! Bad organisation on the part of Cessnock Council.

  3. What a FIASCO!! We were stuck in traffic for 2 and a half hours and ended turning around and going back to the accommodation we had booked in the Hunter just for this event. One of our party was in a wheel chair so there was no possibility of walking the last 5kms to get there and back in the pitch black on a dodgy road with ditches either side!

As for getting a bus, even the buses couldn’t get through!! This has been a very badly organised event and must not happen again. Thank God we hadn’t paid the $169 for the best seats cause I’m sure a lot of those people wouldn’t have made it in either.

New Vine Entertainment have a lot to answer for as do Cessnock Council, not to mention the lack of police presence along the over 10kms back into Branxton that started at 5pm! The police I’m sure were just as surprised at the lack of organisation as those fans who missed out on a concert they may have been waiting months to attend.

  4. It was an absolute disgrace. My wife and i also turned around after over 2 hours in the car ,and averages lees than 5km/h in the car from 5-6pm. We purchased full price tickets and will be seeking full compensation along with re-imbursement for the accommodation. The most ridulous and worst event ever organised.

  5. I was absolutely outraged at the way the concert at wyndham estate was handled. I also had tickets that were registered and after sitting in the car for 2hrs to get there from Greta we were turned away because the estate was full. Left with a nine year old girl in the back seat crying her little eyes out because she had missed out on her very first concert we had no other choice but to turn the car around and take another 2 hrs to get out of there. One would think that with all the technology we have these days a simple barcode scan could be done on the tickets to only let those in who followed the instructions properly let in. Shame on you Wyndham i will never ever attend a concert at your venue again. I feel that this was just a massive money grab for the estate.

  6. Three friends and I attended the concert at Wyndham Estate on December 12 and we were appauled at the management of this event. It WAS a fiasco, indeed.

Traffic management was so poor, we were caught up in a 2 1/2 hour ‘jam’ that got our Coach [picking us up at Pokolbin at 5.25pm !] to the venue so late that we missed the first act – Jessica Mauboy – altogether.

Some people in our hotel travelling by car to the venue and who, like us, had reserved seating, were turned away at Branxton. Yet, we noted that the reserved seating was only 70%-80% full. We chatted with many patrons who had been given free tickets for the Green. One group had been offered 20 tickets at the Visitors Bureau.

We couldn’t get any food at all [they ran-out]. The tv monitors were poor quality viewing. Twenty five minutes before the show ended, the main toilet block was closed off to women only, then whilst the queue was around sixty women long, these toilets were closed off altogether. What is a girl to do !

Also, I found it hard to find bins for our rubbish. Were there any ?

The sound quality in the expensive reserved seating was poor, much better up the hill. And for Smokey’s first song, he had no sound from his mic.

I heard one comment: have you ever seen so many people and so few police ?

And I spoke with people who had walked 7, even 9 kilometres to the venue. Not young people either. Many patrons left early, just into Smokey’s act because, no doubt, they feared long delays to get home / to their hotel.

Our bus driver compared this debarcle to the very recent Fleetwood Mac concert for an audience of around 19,000 – where logistics “worked like clockwork”.

Look, it’s an expensive exercise to go to a concert like this: we figured the four of us had spent just shy of $2,000 with good seats [yes, we did pay the $170 odd per seat and months in advance], premium accommodation, meals, wine, travel to and from the Hunter.

Having said this, Human Nature certainly gave their all and were fabulous. Smokey Robinson IS a legend and performed superbly.

However, our own experience at this event and that of many thousands of people on the night is bad for concert promotion, bad for tourism, bad for the Hunter Valley and very bad for Brad Flowers’ / New Vine’s [the promoters] reputation. It was an embarrassment to Australia.

  7. I would just like to say to all the people who have issues with last nights concert, they need to raise their issues with the promoter New Vine Entertainment. New Vine Entertainment hire the venue from Wyndham Estate, Wyndham estate and other suppliers had no control over the debarcle of last nights concert. I feel sorry for all the staff that were abused by people when it had nothing to do with them or the company they worked for. New Vine Entertainment owes alot of people a very big appology. I have attended numerous concerts in the Hunter Valley they are NEVER this disorganised. Please lift your game New Vine Entertainment.

  8. We, too, experienced the same debacle! We spent over 2 hours in the car, creeping slowly in bumper to bumper traffic. We got to within 6km of the venue when we heard by word of mouth that the carpark had been closed and concert goers were having to walk 3km+ to get to the venue. Ridiculous! This was at about 7.50, so we decided to call it a day, turned around and gave up. We were given the tickets, but the instruction that “Ticket invalid until activated on http://www…...” is in EXTREMELY small writing on the ticket – not obvious at all. If this is to be blamed for the total chaos last night, this is ludicrous. I was so incensed by the whole thing that I called Wyndham Estate at about 8.15pm, and was amazed that the phone was answered by the Estate Manager. He was extremely apologetic and most sympathetic, and explained that the vineyard had nothing to do with the organisation, the venue had merely been let out to New Vine Entertainment. He said that 6,000 complimentary tickets had been issued, more than the total number of people the venue can cope with. I welcome the comment by Hunter Valley Tourism that they plan to contact the promoters. We won’t be returning to a concert in the Valley for a long time. The idea of parking stations and buses into the venue is a good one. But it has to be sorted out, otherwise a whole lot of other people won’t be bothering to return to the Valley for concerts either.

  9. 3 of us arrived early. No problems with traffic etc. The gates were 20minutes late in opening so (admittedly no-one was forced to queue in the sun but many did) it would have been good for water/drinks to be sold during our wait. We specially bought 4 beach chairs (lowrise) as we had been told by Wyndham Estate that these were the only chairs that would be allowed- yet a “normal” size chair would have been much more comfortable (epecially given that I am 8 months pregnant) and plenty of people came with those. Food and drink was overpriced ($7 for a beer in a plastic cup is a joke, and dinner averaged about $15). The toilet debarkle that others have mentioned was a disgrace. The bars ran out of softdrink by 7pm – they got more then ran out of that within 20minutes! Yet, we were not allowed to take our own softdrink to the venue. How could htey have under-catered so poorly – it was always gong to be a hot day! Bottled water was sold but whatever happened to the rule of supplying free water at a licenced venue? Sound quality for the concert was not good. I am very thankful for Human Nature who make the night worthwhile. Smokey Robinson was VERY disappointing. Note to promoters – an outdoor concert was NOT the right venue for these artisits. It took us 50minutes to get there and 1.5hours to get home. We were parked 1.5km from the venure gates. Our friends, who live nearby but were parked only about 200m from the venue gates took 2.5hours to get home! We had a good night overall, but were very glad were had complimentary tickets!
Note: concert staff, council and Police should not receive any blame at all. New Vine Entertainment and Wyndham Estate need to seriously reasses their capabilities! We have not had anything close to these types of problems at any other vineyard concert.

  10. We got there early at 4pm, at that time the traffic was still moving good, was directed to the disabled parking and when I got out all we saw was a big long queue of people lined up.

No one had any plan on how to deal with disabled people attending, you had people in wheel chairs lined up with the rest so that they did not get separated from the people they were attending the event with.

On the green there was basically no organisation, finding your way around the event was like lettting a rabbit loose in a maze.

People in the disabled car park were blocked in to allow people in every other car park to exit first, we sat in one spot for about 40 minutes as everyone else around us forced there way out using every possible method or exit and then when we did try to exit some teen RFS person yelled at us for not following the line, the line we had been stuck stationary in for 40 minutes.

there was people walking down the road, not sure how no one got run over, it was more by good luck than good management, one woman walked into the side of our car and hit the mirror.

There was sound issues but you have to expect that given the technology used, wireless microphones are good when they work, however it is unlicenced spectrum.

When we were walking out they could have opened up some of the demountable fencing to make it easier to exit, basically the running and management of the event was done poorly and I will never attend another event at the wineries.

  11. Having contemplated the whole concert in the vines thing for some time, and coming into possession of some complimentary tickets, my partner and I decided this would be a great opportunity to see what it was all about. Clearly, we’ll never go again (free or not). We experienced all the issues thousands of others did – 100km drive to get there, stopped 4km out, turned away at 8pm, etc. – but clearly the promoters have issued many more complimentary tickets than they could ever have accommodated. If the premise was that you had to register your ticket (which we did) then this should have been clearly stated, with the corollary that no-one would be permitted entry without having done so. The damage done to the winery’s brand will be huge and they can distance themselves from the event but surely it is in their own interests to ensure the thing is run properly. If I leased my house out to someone for a party and things got out of hand, then I’d propbably only have myself to blame for the outcome. Who are New Vine Entertainment? I’m sure nobody would have a clue apart from the faceless blokes in black BMW’s behind it. Fiasco doesn’t begin to describe it.

  12. I bought 2 tickets ($280.00) to this concert the day they went on sale (a couple of months ago) it was to be a surprise for my friend and I booked accommodation for this event. We went to the Estate at 1.00pm on the day to see when we could get in etc (as I had never attended a concert like this before) we were told by security at the gate that the gates opened at 4.00pm and the concert started between 7-8pm and there was plenty of parking. So my friend and I assuming because we had reserved seats we did not need to sit in the hot sun (33 degrees) we would arrive 6.30pm. We experienced what everyone else did and we did not get to the concert, we started the walk and got 2 klms in and then turned back because it was so dark and the road was very unsafe. My friend rang
Wyndam Estate and the Manager answered and apologised saying the gates were closed and even though we had reserved seating, we would not get in because too many people were there with their FREE tickets. I was very angry that I had bought tickets, paid accommodation, spent money in the Valley and still could not get in to see the concert. The only people to benefit from issuing free tickets are the people selling drinks and food – Who were they??????
I am going to seek full refund plus accommodation as I believe poeple with reserved seating should have been allowed in OVER those with FREE tickets.

  13. I was also one of the many to attend the concert with a complimentary ticket (registered) and I took the option of a seat on a Rovers coach from East Maitland. The trip to the winery took about 40 minutes and I arrived at 3.10pm. At the time I was a little annoyed that we had arrived so early but having heard every one elses dramas in getting to the concert (or not) I am glad that was the case. Yes the food was a bit over priced $7.50 for a soft dring and a bottle of water & $25 for a bottle of wine are pretty much what you would expect at something like this. I went to the bar 3 times during the night and I have to say that I did not have to wait more than a few minutes to be served each time. The same with the toilets. Yes the main demountable toilets were closed when the concert finished but the porta loos were available and again I was lucky enough not to have too long a wait. The return bus left the venue about 11.20 and our return trip to East Maitland took around 1 &1/4 hours so about 40minutes longer. Human Nature were great and I can only say someone must have been looking after me on the night. there are no complaints from me

  14. LISTEN,
This entire spectacle has gone way too far.
I was one of the concert attenders, and i understand the hassle completely, but did everyone not listen to the news? Wyndham Estate is not at all responsible for this incident, they are simply the location.
So all these over-exaggerated comments with people stating they will never attend a concert at Wyndham Estate or in the wineries again should really rethink their statements. It would be entirely your loss if you stood by this statement.
I think people should look at Wydham Estates fantastic record before any judgement is made, This has never happened before, as i have attended many concerts, including many years of opera, and each year has been fabulous for my friends and myself.
Once i was at the concert, i had a ball.
And for those who missed out, sorry. Not much can be done.
    Don’t dwell, move on.

  15. Wydham Estate have said the stuff up on Saturday was nothing to do with them, if they have such a good record of organising events then they should have known better, the whole event was poorly organised, people travelled a great distance to attend the event and could not get in.

YOu are going to see alot more about this, the roads around the hunter valley are not designed for large volumes of traffic, the locals are totally fed up with their local roads being taken over by the large concerts that do nothing for the local economy.

THe wineries need to pull their heads out of the sand and do a better job, no one at the event on Saturday had any clue what they were doing.

  16. I believe they werent the organises of the event.
The free tickets were not supplied by wyndham. This was just as much of shock to them as to us.
I am a local. And never have concerts ever affected by travel.

  17. Comedy of errors in the Vines

Poor security at the front gate.
No clearly marked footways to walk to your seat.
1 and 1 only toilet location on the whole block which was closed prior to the end of the event and was over 200m from our platinium seating.lets not forget the group of teenage boys hanging aroud the ladies toilets making lewd remarks to our wives as they exited the toilets.

A couple of good points Human Nature and Smokeys performance were most enjoyable

The drinks available tasted vile and sold at premium prices,
Who drinks Coopers beer anyway at $7,00 per plastic cup. Even the wines were of poor quality and $25.00 a bottle. and I couldnt find a soft drink anywhere.
We arrived at 7.30 and there was no food available (probably lucky) I wonder how much it would have cost to eat whatever offal was available.
Vines entertainment groundstaff shrugged when we asked for direction to our seats.
Vine entertainment groundstaff gave us misleading information causing us to walk 100s of metres around the venue to a bar we could not enter,
We had platinum tickets which entitled us to entry of the after party which we stayed for.

    Oh and another good point
“Excellent DJ” at the after party a very proficient beatmixer I must say.

The After party bar was just as bad if not worse than the main event bars.
Luckily I managed to get a softdrink here only at top shelf spirit prices

The most dissapointing thing however had to be
The bus driver / Imbecile of the Crowne Plaza Express bus from ARROW COACHES who managed to have my wife in tears when he tried to refuse us transport back to our hotel at around 2am because we didnt know a secret password. A big up yours to Vines Entertainment again as they should have provided us with this password.

As a fan of quality food wine and entertainment I expected this event to be of a much higher calibre aimed at showing off our fine australian foods, wines and entertainers in a unique setting.

To sum it up Id have to say it was the most poorly organised event I have ever attended.

  18. Wyndham Estate is in the Singleton local government area, not the Cessnock local government area.

The problem needs to rest firmly at the door of New Vine Entertainment.

I have lodged a compliance complaint with Singleton council. I trust that they take the matter up with the correct people and have it dealt with.

This is incredibly bad publicity for a tourism area that prides itself on being a concert venue.

In all the years we’ve lived here, we have never heard of such a debacle. Lucky us deciding to go to this event though – not.

That said the acts were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed Human Nature and Smokey Robinson.

Everything else was a farce. Portapotties running out of water and paper by 7 p.m., soft drink and free water (drink) running out around the same time.

Oh – we were allowed to bring in food and drinks – to whoever said they could not bring in soft drink. Don’t know why you were refused because we brought in an esky and picnic. No alcohol, all plastic bottles, unopened.

  19. We were so excited to be at a human nature concert again they are usually so grouse…. but ……………..OH NO……..not this time!!! We were stuck in traffic, which is to be expected for the performance that we anticipated that we were going to see!! $240 tickets no problem, cheap we thought for their usual upbeat showman performance along with Jessica and Smokey who I might add, made the night worth attending!!! Even the FREE tickets we didn’t mind if it was going to enlighten more peoples lives with their fantastic harmonising. Drink prices we expected this………everyone has to make money from these events otherwise they are simply not worth the time and effort it takes for these reputable establishments to put them on.

    BUT……………………….

Human Nature was a real disappointment I thought they were so much better than the last time, I wish that they had of sung more of their ORIGINAL classics, rather than every other Tom, Dick and Harry’s Motown rubbish!!!!
They used to be cool but I’m not so into them now……..they’ve changed!!!!

Hopefully they will be going back to their original jives by the time we get to Vagas to see them there for our honeymoon, we would really not like to be disappointed twice!!!

  20. A few points to echo the bad organisation of new vine entertainment;

    * if you want people to register online USE ELECTRONIC scanners to resolve the registration confusion – too many event staff/security not really knowing what to do and what info to provide
    * Lovely website BUT major points of information missing and false like chairs, drinks
    * Security guards – please speak to those who were in a fight at the end – real “tough guys” swearing and carrying on (not all security but there were about 6 of the pompous fools
    * Beautiful event staff at the VIP section who tried to care for children and attendees and fend off drunkards
    * Toilets – what a debarcle – mirror to the comments above. OH&S issues.
    * Lines were not handled appropriately, security closed off one line, bar opened it back up meanwhile q’s were being ferried back and forth
    * Police – are you serious, the ones on the road detoured cars without explaining what was going on and visitors into the council were getting lost along roads – u turns on highways – no street lights, they were limited in info provided to patrons
    * Accidents and fights with drunkards approaching cars trying exit and banging on windows; I had children in the car upset
    * Sound – what are they thinking! Smokey lost nearly a whole song; without sound.
    * Was not enough security clearing all the drunks who were swearing and carrying on, I had to call event staff to an abusive couple but this was a regular occurance
    * Breatherlisers would make a motza there, you could visually SEE drunk people driving! However we really wouldn’t have done well for more delays. It took 4 hours to exit the estate grounds
    * No MC or crowd coordination
    * No bins, yes there were bags handed out but if you missed the handout you were stuck with piles of rubbish and no bins in sight
Too much to mention here in terms of disasters.

Human Nature CARRIED the show and were obvious crowd pleasers.

  21. Firstly, I would like to say that this is the 4th winery concert my husband and I have attended and I have to say the most poorly organised logistics-wise. For all the other concerts we have attended we have had VIP seating but we had general admission tickets.
We were one of the lucky ones that managed to score free tickets, my sister-in-law registered them online and I was very surprised that we weren’t asked to somehow prove this fact- mistake #1
We arrived at about 3:50pm and waited in a very long line until 4:20pm in the heat, the gates were meant to open at 4pm – mistake #2
We were allowed to take our water bottle into the venue and had we had other soft drinks unopened then I’m sure we would have been allowed to take them in too.
To those complaining about the price of bottled water I’m not sure why you didn’t avail yourselves of the MANY big fat ‘kegs’ of FREE water on the bars, cups provided (each end). I do think at $7 a cup the beer was ridiculously priced but did taste OK maybe I was just very thirsty!! The wine at $25 a bottle also overpriced! The thing that gets me is I saw MANY obviously drunk people staggering back through the crowds with FULL bottles of wine, making the presence of RSA Marshalls an absolute joke!!! I also spied a man with a GLASS bottle of beer in a cooler in FULL view of security – the reason? he was involved in a very heated discussion with another drunk man – mistake #3
The toilet block was very adequate until they closed BEFORE the end of the show a very big mistake #4
Getting to the toilet/bar/food was a nightmare, we were seated at the very front of the green against the fence and had people from the VIP seating trampling all over our blankets and food. a designated path with some form of low lighting would have helped – mistake #5
Wyndham Estate is on a dead ended road!!! BIG FAT mistake #6
Leaving the venue for us was quite easy as we were on our motorbike but hearing of people bashing on windows etc I am so glad we were!!!

OH and I thought ALL the entertainers were fabulous!! Human Nature does Motown so well! the only downer was the lack of sound for Smokey Robinson’s first song. I even enjoyed Jessica Mauboy’s set, the poor girl did so well in that blazing sun!

Our experience at Tempus Two concerts has been very different, lots and LOTs of food/drink choices, heaps of toilet facilities opened til well after the concert finished. Entertainment (DJ) after the concert so people were not in such a rush to get away hence alleviating traffic congestion, not sure about any free tickets being given away, designated path down to VIP seating, more than one road out of the venue!!!. Maybe New Vine Entertainment should take all this into consideration when deciding on a venue for their next concert

  22. After event entertainment might have been good to help stagger the traffic leaving, you can’t have thousands of people leaving a venue at the same time, the DJ was good, leave the bar open for soft drink and the toilets etc then a number of people might have stayed longer.

As for designated walkways, that was a problem for everyone, finding your way around the event was an event in itself.

  23. I won’t echo the comments that others have made here. The event was a complete disgrace for all the reasons listed. In the end, it was worth attending because of smokey and in spite of the promotion.

To the people here insisting that nobody should point the finger at Wyndham Estate, kindly pull your head out. The winery’s name was splashed all over every bit of promotional material, and their reputation has suffered as a direct result of their unwillingness to exercise any control over who came to their property and in what manner. To defer all responsibility to an obviously useless (untested?) promotions company demonstrates extreme negligence towards the people who chose to spend their weekend in the hunter and who travelled so far to be there.

New Vine Entertainment/Brad Flowers are rubbish and should be run out of town.

Wyndham Estate should never hold another event. I doubt I will ever again buy the wine after being treated so poorly, let alone return to the winery for any reason.

Hunter Tourism should re-evaluate Wyndham and New Vine’s role in the future of Hunter events. Such a fiasco brings embarassment to the entire valley.

  24. To the person who said (above) ‘get over it’ (in so many words) …. I encourage others to ‘MAINTAIN THE RAGE’ ! ‘This has gone way too far ‘ (??! ? ) . Excuse me, but if you are mega pissed off, as you SHOULD be ..

Too many negative comments (?) … well, personally, I reckon there’d be far FAR more here, if more people were actually aware of this site (who’d attended) … on which to vent. It was only through researching that I found this site. Further, not everyone’s on the internet, or computer savvy (that went).

As someone who largely stays in their ‘comfort zone’ … I was not that fussed about going in the first place. To then end up in a nightmare situation … I for one certainly did NOT need this whole experience.

I say the rich bastards responsible for this SHAMBLES, who were after lining their pockets further still … by supplying their captive audience with well OVERPRICED beer/wine etc (can’t bring your own ……) ……. and wanting as many at the event as possible (for their own gains, I suspect) ….. SHOULD be shamed / embarrassed as long as possible.

I doubt they have a conscience (really) … as they sob all the way to the bank, in their nice BMWs.

No, I for one will choose to ‘miss out’ on future Hunter Valley concerts (no matter WHO’S on the bill) .. don’t need to travel for hours to possibly go through this type of horror experience again !

  25. Telling people to get over it was not a smart move, that just added fuel to the fire.

Who is new vine entertainment, I tried to google them and found nothing.

I could understand the restriction on bringing beer/wine into the place, however if they are going to do it then the prices should be reasonable, you are buying the product at wholesale prices and selling way above retail and theres a captive audience ready to buy.

The reality of life is bad news travels faster and longer than good news, far more people are going to hear about the one event over all of the good, just try searching google and you will find its already indexed.

Its time for Hunter Tourism to do its job instead of just issueing a press statement saying they distance them selve from new vine, this is not a problem with local council’s they don’t decide what events are going to be booked, these events are booked many months in advance and then the development applications are lodged at the last minute.

  26. I agree with William and disappointed, Jessica telling people to “get over it” is very uncaring and near-sited. These people were looking forward to a pleasant night of good food, drink and entertainment and instead ended up forking out mega $$$ to be turned away kilometres from the gate!! I’d be angry too!! and yes there should be an accessible forum for people to vent that anger! Come on New Vine a public apology would go a long way to cooling that anger!

  27. Does anyone know if this refund is limited to the face value of the ticket or are they paying for peoples expenses to attend the event, if I was one of the people who travelled from Dubbo(for example), had paid for accomodation, food, concert ticket etc then it would leave me with a big bill if new vine only refunds the face value of the ticket.

  28. We were the toilet attendants and would just like to say thank you to the majority of people for understanding that it was not our fault that the toilets had to be closed. There were not enough toilets to cater for the unexpected high volume of people.
