GUNNEDAH SAYS NO TO FROZEN MEALS ON WHEELS

The Gunnedah Meals on Wheels branch, is concerned the famously fresh meals it serves to the elderly in the community, will soon be delivered frozen.
“The Government is looking at frozen meals and looking at potentially changing the whole system in the long run, that people may be able to move away from Meals on Wheels and have frozen meals.”
The local branch says it won’t serve meals frozen unless it’s what the clients request, citing contamination concerns.
“It’s fresh meals and if the Government decide to take it away from the hospitals, then we have other people who are trained to look after diabetics and will cook for Meals on Wheels in Gunnedah.”
