An 81-year-old Coffs Harbour woman is undergoing surgery for a broken hip after being pushed to the ground by thieves in the city’s CBD yesterday.
[TAKE VO] (VO)The elderly woman also lost several teeth as a result of the attempt to steal her handbag.
The incident came shortly after a similar attack in the same area on a 52-year-old woman.
Police arrested two teenage males in Albany Street yesterday afternoon.
An 18 year old has been charged with stealing, and recklessly causing grievous bodily harm.
A 16 year old remains in custody with charges pending.
