REPORT INTO WILLIAMTOWN CONTAMINATION HANDED DOWN

A Senate inquiry report into the Williamtown RAAF contamination issue has handed down eight recommendations, including that the federal government voluntarily acquire contaminated land and property.
Among other key recommendations – the Commonwealth develop a compensation package for commerical fisherman and that Defence establish and fund a blood testing program for residents in the investigation area.
It comes on the same day as an expert panel investigating the issue met at Williamtown Airport.
