The second annual Heritage Festival is in full swing, with the Tamworth Film and Sound Archive hosting an open day today to showcase the town’s history.
Fitting with this year’s theme of ‘Voices through History,’ the volunteer group is hoping to share the region’s story through pictures.
“We’re the best kept secret in Tamworth and we’re rather unique in the fact that we’re the only film & sound archive outside of Canberra that we’re aware of.”
The archive holds more than 20,000 items, some dating back to the early 1900s.
A second open day will be held on Thursday.
