The Valentines Day assault of police officers in Yamba and the trashing of two police vehicles will be the subject of a public meeting in the town this week.
The violent incident, during which 15 people were arrested, happened when police attempted to shut down a noisy party in the town’s industrial estate.
The community is invited to attend the meeting which has been organised by the Police Northern Region Aboriginal Advisory Committee.
Police will outline a number of initiatives aimed at reducing crime in the town.
The meeting, at the Blue Dolphin Resort on Yamba Road, gets underway at 10.30am on Wednesday.
