Northern New South Wales Football’s first ever knockout competition kicked off this afternoon with all 22 northern pool teams taking to the field at a number of centres across the region.
Only half will progress to the next round.
The tournament, which is divided into two pools, will see northern teams take on their southern counterparts in the quarter finals.
It will provide an opportunity for northern sides to take on some of the more fancied Newscastle sides later in the year.
$10, 000 in prizemoney is up for grabs.
