A man and woman are in a stable condition in John Hunter Hospital after a car collided with a motorbike, five kilometres south of Muswellbrook.
The accident forced the closure of the New England Highway for most of the morning.
Police are investigating the crash, which is the second on that stretch of road in as many weeks.
