NEW SKATE PARK STEP ONE IN REVITALISING VIADUCT PARK

Tamworth will soon be home to a $1.7-million international standard skate park.
This will be stage one in revitalising Viaduct Park, and follows outcry for an updated space from local youths.
The state member only too happy to jump into action.
“They wanted an up to date skate park that had half pipes, and streetscapes in it, where they could do tricks and learn, and also hold competitions,” Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson.
Almost $1-million was pledged by the state government, with Council footing the remaining $700,000.
“Within maybe three months time we hope to see the excavators and the dozers down here starting the works,” Cr Col Murray, Mayor Tamworth Regional Council.
