The importance of regional air links has been celebrated following the maiden flight of an upgraded Narrabri to Newcastle service.
The previously twice-a-week service, operated by Aeropelican, will now do 10 flights on a Monday to Friday timetable.
Narrabri Mayor, Robyn Faber, was greeted by the Newcastle and Port Stephens mayors upon arrival at Williamtown.
The flights are expected to benefit mine and medical-related travel.
