Disability care workers are preparing to strike, over the planned closure of three Hunter residential centres.
The Stockton, Kanangra and Tomaree centres are being shut down, and replaced with privately run ‘group homes’.
The Public Services Association claims workers have been told they will not receive a redundancy, if they don’t take up work with the new providers.
Several hundred employees will strike for four hours next Wednesday.
