Nationals Leader Andrew Stoner has welcomed the bypass work, but he wants to see some action further up the highway.
The Oxley MP says the Pacific Highway at Clybucca is the nation’s worst blackspot and must be urgently fixed.
The notorious stretch was the scene of a bus crash just over 20 years ago in which 35 people were killed and dozens injured.
Mr Stoner today repeated calls he made at the 20th anniversary memorial ceremony back in December to fix the deadly stretch of road.
