BURDEKIN PARK TREE REMOVAL STALLED

The push to remove dead trees in Singleton’s bat-ridden Burdekin Park has stalled.
Contractors were supposed to move in last week but the federal government is yet to grant approval for the work.
That’s now expected to happen on July 26, just four days before the necessary state approval is due to expire.
The trees will be removed at night when there are fewer bats in the park.
