WEATHER UPDATE: THE WINTRY RUN ROLLS ON

Winter has a tight grip on the region at the moment with southerly winds strong along the coast pushing in showers from the Hunter to Port Macquarie today, spreading further north from tomorrow.
Some light patchy falls are expected to develop across the inland areas of the NW from Friday.
The large swell along the coast is going to ease slightly but more damage is being done with the constant swell bombarding our beaches causing extensive coastal erosion. The Gold Coast has largely missed out on this swell so far. A new problem is emerging with some of the largest tides of the year growing this weekend leading up to Sundays full moon. This will exacerbate the erosion problem and to make matters worse another east coast low is likely to form.
At this early stage the target area appears to be in between Coffs Harbour and Sydney. This is a system that will have to be monitored closely in the coming days as could cause more heavy, possibly flooding rain strong winds and large swell.
Fantastic coverage of weather. Thank you
