CONFUSION AT COFFS COUNCIL

It’s been revealed that more than $825,000 has been spent on refurbishing Coffs Harbour City Council’s Rigby House and Administration building, without council’s approval.

A summary report, to be tabled at Thursday night’s council meeting, admits there were deficiencies in the processes utilised, but denies suggestion of corrupt conduct.

The two projects have been linked to the shock sacking of General Manager Stephen Sawtell at the beginning of August.

Council will now consider putting measures in place to ensure similar approval issues don’t arise in the future.
