SYLVESTER SURFS HIS WAY ONTO THE AUSSIE TEAM

Merewether’s Jake Sylvester has earned a place on the Australian Team, which will surf at the World Junior Championships in Peru next May.

The 17-year-old spent four days at Surfing Australia’s High Performance Centre this week, competing against the best juniors in the country for a place on the national team.

The selection criteria included prior competition results, fitness level and attitude.

Jake finished the camp in first place overall in the under 18 boys division, ensuring his place on the Australian team for the second time.
