COAL DRIVES DUDDY TO POLITICS

A candidate for the state election has vowed to expose any secrets the state government has regarding air quality in the Upper Hunter
Tim Duddy says he’s been compelled to run as an Independent against Nationals candidate George Souris, after feeling like a second class citizen when it comes to coal companies and the state’s planning laws.
Good on you Tim Duddy. You can’t speak up too loudly as far as I’m concerned. My heart weeps when I see the descecration of our beautiful valley. Drive down the Putty Rd at Bulga, the road towards Greenlands off the New England Highway and you will see what I mean. These mining companies must be halted. I have nothing but praise for George Souris, but maybe he is a bit complacent having held this seat for so many years. I may be wrong, but I can’t recall hearing any strong words from him about this issue recently. The fact that there will be a real issue about this at the forthcoming election because so many people are fed up with this mining, could be a wake-up call for him. I dearly hope so because otherwise, Tim Duddy will be getting my vote.
