THORNTON RAIL BRIDGE ON TRACK

The state government says it is committed to building the $25-million Thornton Bridge.
Council and Liberal candidate for Maitland Robyn Parker have questioned the timeline for the project.
It comes after the Planning Minister granted the developer of a nearby housing estate more time to pay its share.
“We’re talking about the state government being funded by their own private agreement with the developers”
“They’re saying the bridge is a done deal we haven’t seen any forward budget or any timeline that’s believable”
But the Member for Maitland, Frank Terenzini, says tenders for the work will be called next month.
“What’s been exposed is simply a cheap political stunt”
