The protest committee has been kept busy after the final day of the State Etchell sailing titles off Newcastle.
Lake Macquarie’s Kane Sinclair started the final day on top of the standings and in a fleet that featured Olympians, America’s Cup sailors and World Champions, that was no mean feat.
The stormy backdrop made the perfect setting on what was to be a turbulent final day, which featured three races.
It ended with Sydney’s Mark Johnston taking out the regatta but at last word, the rest of the placings were subject to a range of protests.
