Labor in Maitland… this is how it works:
When pre-polling opened yesterday, the only candidate that showed preference was Labor candidate and current MP Frank Terenzini. Much to the surprise even to the same woman he gave his preference to, Ms. Tranter, who has expressed no preference for Labor herself. Now this seems like a desperate act from Mr. Terenzini to take votes away from Liberal candidate Ms. Robyn Parker. It’s a scheming and vengeful plan not to win but to keep a Liberal from taking his seat. A silly rivalry with no good end.
Ms. Tranter, a lady with no real previous experience in politics, wasn’t even aware of this preference made by Labor, yet Mr. Terenzini recommends her as the better option?
Mr. Terenzini has also been repeatedly campaigning that he has been attacked by Ms. Parker, and this has been his only speech over the past year. We haven’t heard much else. Just as we haven’t seen any of the other candidates’ plans or real promises but those of the Liberal candidate.
The MP Terenzini has been crying personal attacks when the only thing that has been exposed is his incompetence as our MP for Maitland. Even his campaign flyers celebrate mostly other people’s victories as his own. And on regards to his preference, Kelly Tranter’s promises are broad and empty. You can hear it in her own radio ads when she promises to “consult and take on tough issues”. Now what exactly does that mean? She’s a lawyer alright! No real promises, no real numbers, no solutions.
Terenzini’s last minute promises are only his final attempt to save himself from his own tsunami. No wonder he has been hiding in his campaign that he’s a Labor candidate. Either way, we’ve only seen him and the independent candidate pop up in the last two weeks of the election. So come on Maitland, let’s vote smart this month. And for those who don’t, don’t complain about the politicians elected if you don’t make the best of democracy.

Maitland
Spoken like a true Liberal Party apparatchik. I bet they actually pay someone to scan the internet to post nasty comments like this.
I live in Maitland and I will be voting Independent in this election. She’s the only candidate who actually makes sense.
