MEDOWIE HIGH STEP CLOSER

The Labor Party today made one if its biggest election spending pledges in the Hunter, committing $20-million for a new high school in Medowie.
Candidate Kate Washington had been critical of her own government.
It bought a block of the land for the high school 26 years ago, but the project didn’t go any further.
Nearly 700 of the region’s children are bussed out of town for schooling.
“The build is 2012 1013, with students due to start in a highschool in Medowie in 2013.”
