JEREMY BEASLEY SENTENCED TO A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS GAOL

A Newcastle man has been sentenced to a minimum of 3 years gaol, over delivering a deadly punch in 2009.

A jury found Jeremy Beasley guilty of manslughter in November last year and today he was sentenced in Newcastle District Court.

Greg Newton died after being hit in the head in Newcastle’s Beaumont Street, the blow knocked him backwards, his head hit the gutter.

Mr Beasley was sentenced to 6 years gaol, with a non-parole period of 3 years.

He will be eligible for parole on the 18th of September 2013.
