Drivers on the F3 were treated to a spectacle today, as an F1-11 bomber was transported down the freeway.
The aircraft, which saw combat in Vietnam, is on its way to Illawarra Regional Airport to be displayed.
Known as “the pig”, aviation enthusiasts made the most of a mandatory rest stop at Beresfield near Newcastle.
The 18 tonne bomber will continue its journey along the Hume Highway tomorrow, before being reassembled for public display
