SORGHUM DRIVE PROVING A HIT

Farmers on the Liverpool Plains have eagerly jumped on a good cause, with more than 150 tonnes of sorghum donated so far to the local Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The crop is currently worth $300 per tonne, with organisers hoping to raise more than $50,000 to help the service stay in the air.
It’s the first time since 2011 the event’s been held, with this year’s higher yield allowing growers to jump on board.
Donations are expected to continue tomorrow.
