LISMORE CBD IMPROVES CARBON FOOTPRINT

Lismore City Council is attempting to improve its carbon footprint with $170,000 worth of eco-efficient renovations to five council CBD buildings.

The state government funded CBD Greenovation project saw the installation of solar panels, solar hot water systems and lighting retrofits.

” we’re saving about 54 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide a year, which is the equivalent of taking 69 cars permanently off the road”

Council is now encouraging residents to follow its lead and has created an information booth at Council’s CBD office giving hints and advice on how to save energy.
