Police are searching for a group of brazen thieves who ram-raided a supermarket north of Coffs Harbour overnight.
The trio, smashed through the entrance of the Woolgoolga Plaza in a red ute around 4am, before ramming through the doors of the IGA supermarket.
They then used crow bars to try and open the cigarette cabinet.
The would-be thieves, who were wearing balaclavas and gloves, left the store empty-handed after only a few minutes.
No one was injured.
Police are now examining security footage.
