ANGLICAN CHURCH KEEPS QUIET OVER COMPLAINTS CLAIM

The Anglican Church is refusing to comment on reports that nine complaints have been lodged against Newcastle Bishop, Brian Farran.
The complaints are believed to have been lodged with the General Synod office in Sydney, and apparently relate to the way the bishop has dealt with several issues over the past six months, including a professional standards board hearing against several priests and a teacher.
Bishop Farran today issued a statement, saying he’s very aware of the concerns of some members of the Cathedral Community.
And that, while he remains unsure of the exact basis for the complaints, he’s welcomed the transparency the process affords.
