What a joke. I thought NBN News had some journalistic integrity but that’s been proven wrong with this story.
For one, how did the assailant actually get into the property? From my knowledge, a side gate usually doesn’t lead to INSIDE a home.
Even in proper working order, a side gate such as this is not going to keep anyone out, nor are they designed to. As a builder, side gates are generally used to keep pets inside yards. They are not a security measure in any way, and to treat them as such is naive and ridiculous.
The injuries the ‘victim’ speaks of are also laughable. I don’t see any evidence of a ‘cut throat’ or ‘banged head’. Surely these injuries would be visible, or if not immediately visible surely they could be shown?
Also why is she blabbling to the news and not fair trading? Possibly because Fair Trading would laugh in her face.
Look, I am sympathetic to what supposedly happened to this lady, but she seems to be after attention , or looking to cause trouble rather than get past this incident.

So is it every real estate agents fault when a rental property gets broken into in the Newcastle region? If so, it sure beats insurance!
Why not blame the offenders parents for failing to teach their child not to steal or the education department for not teaching them right from wrong or lastly the police for not having the prior knowledge to this crime. All of this just said is just as ridiculous as this womans claims that this is the real estate agents fault.
I do feel sorry for her, but she is grasping at straws trying to blame anybody she can, the news report falled to mention how they “actually” got into the house, was it a window or door left open or unlocked by accident?

Heard about this and had to see it for myself. Actually expected to find it on Today Tonight or A Current Affair, not NBN. When are people going to take responsibility for themselves.

Sooo… the perp broke into the back yard through the fence but how exactly did they get into the house? Did she let them in after they broke into the back yard? Was the door left unlocked? Seriously, people should think before they speak and slander a good Novocastrian company!!
