Newcastle pubs, the Cambridge and MJ Finnegans, have joined Fannys nightclub on the list of the state’s most violent venues.
According to government figures, Fannys is the 4th most violent, with 25 assaults in the 12 months to January this year.
The Cambridge was 6th, with 20 assaults, while Finnegans recorded 19 incidents.
The Hunter Valley Brewery at Maitland is no longer on the list.
Venues with 19 or more assaults are subject to stricter licence requirements, including a mandatory 2am lockout, no glass, and no shots.
