TRIPLE FATAL CAUSES TRAFFIC CHAOS

A triple fatal crash north of the Gold Coast overnight caused a traffic gridlock on the M-ONE today.

Northbound lanes to Brisbane were closed for hours while the tragic scene at Beenleigh was cleared.

Police believe a a semi-trailer and a van, both travelling north, were involved in a rear-end collision shortly before three am.

Two men in the van, aged 24 and 30, died at the scene, a 33-year-old female passenger died later in hospital.

The South Casino truck driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Around two hours earlier in Logan Reserve, two men were killed when their vehicle left Chambers Flat Road.
