The path to attaining TAFE qualifications became a little easier for a group of students today, thanks to some financial backing from the big end of town.
The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation and the HunterNet Group Training Company sponsored encouragement awards, presented to pupils by the Hunter TAFE Foundation.
Teachers and staff nominate students who have demonstrated real potential and commitment to their studies, and who can use a small financial boost to help them complete their courses.
