“SHOCKING” DUNGOWAN DAM COST

The Inland Rivers Network has responded to predictions… Dungowan Dam will cost $1.3-billion dollars.

The network says it’s shocked by the estimation, with the dam’s average yield said to be just seven gigalitres.

Deputy PM, Barnaby Joyce, announced this week that plans on the dam are progressing – with the Federal and State Governments each committing $675-million.

But, with costs more than doubling since the project’s birth, Network President, Bev Smiles, believes there may be more cost-effective solutions… such as installing a water-tank for every household.
