HUMAN ERROR CAUSES AWARDS BUNGLE

Human error has been blamed for the 2011 Country Music awards bungle – but no disciplinary action will be taken.
Country music star Lee Kernaghan was mistakenly awarded the Album of the Year accolade – an award that should have gone to fellow artist Graeme Connors.
The board of the Country Music Association of Australia has now put in place a number of measures to ensure the mistake doesn’t happen again.
Chairman, Rod Laing, says the investigation confirmed no member of the board was present backstage or was consulted at the time the event occurred on the night.
An audit of the awards is currently underway.
Cheryl Hayes, general manager of the CMAA at the time, also announced her resignation today.
