A bottle shop worker who became an overnight NRL star, has now secured a long-term contract.
Ryan Stig was weighing up several offers but today decided to stick with the Newcastle Knights for the next two years.
The halfback only made his NRL first grade debut against the Panthers in round 15.
“You know he’s got his future secured for the next couple of years now, and I’d like to think he’ll take some confidence out of that and hopefully we’ll see that in the next couple of rounds.”
